The 'Sunliners' of VFA-81 operate the F/A-18C out of NAS Oceana, VA after having moved up from NAS Cecil Field, FL. They originally operated the A-7 Corsair until transitioning to the Hornet in February 1988. While operating onboard the USS Saratoga with CVW-17 during the Persian Gulf conflict, the Sunliners were the only fixed-wing USN squadron to score aerial victory when they shot down 2 MiG-21s while enroute to their target. They then continued to the target, demonstrating the Hornets dual-role capability.

Price: $7.00

This is the color version of the current squadron patch for the VAQ-132 'Scorpions' that fly the EA-6B Prowler out of NAS Whidbey Island, WA. They fly with Airwing Seventeen currently. Not real pleased with this patch, as it's fairly thin, but when they add velcro to it, I guess it's okay for wear.

Established in October 1968, they fly the E-2C Hawkeye out of NAS Norfolk, VA, as the only airborne early warning role for the carrier battle group. Heavily involved in Desert Storm, the "Tigertails" were credited with controlling two F/A-18C Hornets that shot down two MiG-21s on January 17, 1991. Currently deployed on the USS Eisenhower (CVN-69) with CVW-17.

VAW-125 T-notch Patch VAW-125 T-notch Patch
Size: 4"
In Stock: >5
Price: $7.00

This patch was sent by the VAW-125 Tigertails and depicts the plight of the Naval Officers during the years of '93-'95. Not really sure what it means, but it has something to do with the fact that there aren't enough officers in those year-groups, so they are promoting just about everyone that's in those year groups (I think). If you know, let me know.
