They began flying the Tomcat in 1983, flying against Libya in 1986 in Operation Prairie Fire (March) and Operation El Dorado (April) during their Med Cruise. They also participated in Operation Desert Storm before going the way of the Doo-doo Bird. This is the 'Bedeviled' felix patch they wore on their right sleeve of their flight suit.

This is their black/red-bordered version of their aircraft triangle worn on the right shoulder of the flight suit.

This patch was created by the VF-74 flyers after their "run-in" with the Libyans. It has since become a "generic" felix patch that many wear to show their distaste with the Libyan aggressions.
