It says "TRANSITING FOR GOOD TIMES" across the top, "TEAM SHOGUN" in the middle, and "AMERICA'S 100,000 TON PAWN" across the bottom. This patch does not come with velcro attached.

(From the Squadron Mess): This is one of the 2011-2012 OEF/OND 'JOINT' Cruise patches created for the squadrons of Carrier Air Wing Eleven (CVW-11). It depicts the "Angry Birds" being catapulted from the two-masted schooner onto a desert castle and says "GETTIN' * * * at Kickin' (arabic)". It's designed in the shape of a 'puzzle-piece' if you look on the very corners and does not come with velcro attached! Since this was old inventory for the squadron, I was only able to get a few!!

This is the 2010 cruise patch created for VFA-97 while attached to CVW-11 onboard CVN-68 (USS Nimitz). It says "OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM 2009-2010" across the bottom and does not come with velcro attached.

(Found in Korea): This is one of the 2008 cruise patches created for VFA-97 depicting the flags of the countries they visited while underway. It says "VFA-97 WARHAWKS" across the top and "WESTPAC 2008" along the bottom with some Japanese script just above it. It shows the Red-White Sun Rays, typical of the Japanese imagery. I found this patch in a Korean embroidery shop and has that "in-theater" feel to it. This patch does not come with velcro attached.
