(Korean): The 43FS is part of the 325th Fighter Wing at Tyndall Air Force Base, FL. It conducts advanced fighter training for F-22 Raptor pilots and is one of the oldest in the USAF with its origins dating to 13 June 1917, when it was organized at Kelly Field, TX as the 43d Aero Squadron. The squadron deployed to England as part of the American Expeditionary Force during World War I and saw combat during World War II. They also served in the Vietnam War and later became part of the Alaskan Air Command (AAC) during the Cold War. This patch was found in a Korean embroidery shop in very limited quantities and does not come with velcro attached.

This is the squadron patch for the 58th Fighter Squadron that flew the F-4 Phantom in Vietnam, then transitioned to the F-15A Eagle in 1978 and flew that aircraft in Operation Desert Storm, then have recently transitioned to the F-35 and currently are organized under Air Education and Training Command's 19th Air Force, at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. Its mission is to train US Air Force operators and maintainers on employment and maintenance of the F-35 Lightning II "A" model, as part of the overall 33d FW mission of training American and international aircrews and maintainers of US Air Force, Us Navy, US Marine Corps, and international Air Forces. This patch has a really "OLD" feel to it and is the dark blue version, thus dating it back to the 70's/80's timeframe (in my opinion). Only have a few of these, and they do not have velcro.

This is the a REPRODUCTION patch created to commemmorate the history of the 306th Fighter Squadron. The squadron was first activated as the 306th Fighter-Bomber Squadron in 1957 when the 31st Wing expanded from three to four squadrons and was equipped with the North American F-100 Super Sabre. In 1965 it deployed with its "Huns" to Vietnam, where it engaged in combat until returning to the United States in 1970. It was inactivated in 1971l but was active at Homestead Air Force Base, Florida for two brief periods in the 1970s with the McDonnell F-4 Phantom II and 1980s with the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon. The 421FS is part of the 388FW at Hill Air Force Base, UT. It operates the Block 40 General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft conducting air superiority missions. The squadron is one of the most decorated fighter squadrons in the USAF, being awarded 3 Presidential Unit Citations and 7 Air Force Outstanding Unit Awards for Valor in Combat. The unit was originally formed as the 421st Night Fighter Squadron in 1943. After training, it was deployed to Fifth Air Force and ordered to New Guinea to provide air defense interceptor protection against Japanese night air raids on USAAF airfields. It later served on Okinawa and in Occupied Japan where it was inactivated in 1947. It was reactivated by TAC in 1962 as the 421TFS. Equipped with F-105 Thunderchiefs, it deployed to Southeast Asia and engaged in combat operations over North Vietnam. It returned to the US and was re-equipped with the F-4D Phantom II and returned to Southeast Asia for a second and later third tour of duty in the Vietnam War. Wow, what a history behind this squadron!! The 480th Tactical Fighter Squadron (Warhawks) was assigned to the 12th Tactical Fighter Wing (TFW) from 31 March 1970 to 17 November 1971 at Phu Cat Air Base (AB), South Vietnam, flying the F-4D Phantom II (HK tail letters). While at Phu Cat, 480th aircrews flew close air support, air interdiction, and Ranch Hand escort missions over South Vietnam, close air support, air interdiction, gunship escort and combat air patrol (B-52 BARCAP) missions over Laos, close air support and air interdiction missions over Cambodia, and a limited number of strike/air interdiction missions over North Vietnam (Route Pack One). Google the rest of the history, you'll find it fascinating! This is a reproduction patch and does not come with velcro attached.

The 525FS is a USAF unit assigned to the 3d Operations Group and stationed at Elmendorf AFB, AK. The combat-ready fighter squadron is prepared for rapid worldwide deployment of a squadron of F-22A Raptor aircraft to accomplish precision engagement of surface targets using a wide variety of conventional air-to-surface munitions. The 525FS trains in the fighter missions of strategic attack, interdiction, offensive counterair (air-to-surface), suppression of enemy air defenses, as well as offensive and defensive counterair (air-to-air). This is from the "Dick Stultz" collection of patches. It is the 555 Tactical Fighter Squadron (TFS) '100 Missions over North Vietnam' patch he created for when he was in that squadron. Other than it coming directly from him, I cannot verify the age of it, but since he was in the squadron during that time flying the Phantom, I imagine it has a little age to it.
