Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 23 (HSC-23), also known as the "Wildcards", are a US Navy helicopter squadron based at NAS North Island in San Diego, CA. The "Wildcards" currently fly the MH-60S Seahawk helicopter and the MQ-8B Firescout VTUAV. HSC-23 is the sister squadron of the HSC-21 "Blackjacks" also stationed at NAS North Island. This is the OCP version of the patch worn on the sleeve of their uniform and does not come with velcro already attached.

The HSC-23 WILDCARDS deployed on the USS Montgomery out to the 7th Fleet AOR from September 2019 to February 2020. The "JOKERS WILD" is a play on the HSC-23 squadron patch since they are the "WILDCARDS". It says "JOKERS WILD" along the top and "LCS-8" (along the bottom), which was on the USS Montgomery (LCS-8), an Independence-class littoral combat ship of the United States Navy.
