This is the desert version of the famous A-6E Intruder "Hussein Hunter" series of patches created back during the first Desert Storm. This one has been modified to reflect the latest Operation Iraqi Freedom War date of 03-20-03 even though the aircraft has long since been decommissioned and DID NOT participate in OIF. Will be quite the collector's item.

This is a repro of the squadron patch for the "Fist of the Fleet". They were A-7 drivers out on the West Coast with a history dating back to January 1943. They currently operate the F/A-18C Hornet out of NAS Lemoore, CA. This is their legacy patch. This was created by hand in the Phillipines to give it the "authentic" look and feel.

This is the "decommissioning/farewell" patch for the VA-35 Black Panthers that flew the A-6E Intruder out of NAS Oceana, VA. They were one of the oldest squadrons in the Navy, having had the Panther emblem since the mid-1930's. This squadron was the one that lost an Intruder the first night of the 1991 Persian Gulf War.

This is the "last cruise" patch for the VA-35 Black Panthers that flew the A-6E Intruder off of the USS Saratoga (CV-60). They were one of the oldest squadrons in the Navy, having had the Panther emblem since the mid-1930's. This squadron was the one that lost an Intruder the first night of the 1991 Persian Gulf War.

Located at NAS Oceana, the Roadrunners were one of the nine A-6E Intruder squadrons stationed on the East Coast. This, the 1st of their three squadron patch designs, shows their squadron mascot. The bird's head patch that listed as the first is simply the mascot patch of the 1987-1994 squadron. This design also appeared on the breast of their T-shirts in this period, with the slogan "Heartless." "Heartless" was their radio callsign.

Located at NAS Oceana, the Roadrunners were one of the nine A-6E Intruder squadrons stationed on the East Coast. This, the second of their three squadron patch designs, shows their squadron mascot. The patch listed as the second is the actual patch of the A-6 squadron established in 1987 and disestablished in 1994. It carried on the Roadrunners name and traditions of the earlier squadron (hence their reproduction and use of the earlier Hotrodus Supersonicus patch).

Located at NAS Oceana, the Roadrunners were one of the nine A-6E Intruder squadrons stationed on the East Coast. This, the third of their three squadron patch designs, symbolizes their squadron mascot. The third, the Warner Brothers cartoon roadrunner, was actually the patch of the 1960s squadron which flew A-4s. This squadron was disestablished in 1970, although this patch was also produced and sold by the later VA-36 in the 1980s as an historical/retro/repro item.

This squadron was established as Fighter Squadron 44 in September 1950, then redesignated as Attack Squadron 44 in January 1956, but were disestablished in May 1970. This is the hand-made reproduction patch created for them. They participated in Korea in 1953 and began flying the A-4D in the late 50's. Lots of history with this unit....let me know if you want more.

VA-52 traces it's history to Reserve squadron VF-884 which was established and activated in July 1950 to participate in the Korean conflict, flying F-4U Corsairs. They were designated VA-52 in February 1959. Even with this long history, the squadron is the second in Naval history to be designated as VA-52. They flew the A-6E Intruder (my favorite) and the KA-6D while onboard the Kitty Hawk with Airwing 15. This is the "KNight On the Turtle" version of their squadron patch and is a handmade reproduction.

They were established as VB-18 in January 1945, redesignated as VA-7A in November 1946, redesignated as VA-74 in July 1948, then finally named VA-75 on 15 Feb 1950. This name was earned by them due to the "Sunday Punch" they delivered on targets in their early days.
