The VF-1 'Wolfpack' flew the F-14 Tomcat out of NAS Miramar, CA, but have since been decommissioned. They were established in Oct. 1972, and received their Tomcats the following summer. They were the only Grumman squadron to get an Air-to-Air kill during Desert Storm. This is the 'WOLFPACK' version of their felix patch.

VF-2 is an F-14A Tomcat squadron stationed on the East Coast, but cruises with West Coast boats. They are a TARPS squadron and have cruised on several 'boats', and have achieved several obscure firsts: They were the first to launch from a carrier deck while towing an air-to-air gunnery banner. This is their TARPS patch and denotes both aircrew with the 2 Tomcats. Sorry it's more expensive, but these came from Japan, a port where they sometimes pull into when on cruise.

This is the desert version of the current felix patch for VF-31. The "Tomcatters" are the second oldest Navy fighter squadron dating back to VF-1B on July 1935. They flew the F-4J Phantoms until transitioning to the F-14D Tomcat in January 1981. They pioneered the use of the TARPS pod for reconnaissance missions and participated in the Lebanon and Syrian conflicts, the latter of which they were engaged by hostile AAA and missile fire.
