They were based out of NAS Dallas, TX. They originally flew the F-8H Crusaders, then the F-4N Phantoms until receiving their first Tomcat in April 1987. They were the Tomcat squadron for the Reserve Airwing 20. This is the famous "Superheats" patch they created that states "One Call Does it All". |

VF-213 "MUTHA" Aircraft Patch Size: 5" In Stock: >5 Price: $8.00 The "Black Lions" of VF-213 were established in June 1955, flew F-4B Phantoms for many years, then were transitioned to the F-14A Tomcat in September 1976. They were originally located at NAS Miramar, but have since moved to the East Coast Master Jet Base of NAS Oceana, VA. They were one of the first TARPS capable Tomcat squadrons, and fly with CVW-11 currently onboard the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70). They won the most recent "MUTHA" award, and this is the patch created to commemorate that victory. |
